Married Life

Lets see some events first that you should know before I get to the wedding....
Lawrence had been on his first seven month deployment in afghanistan
and was getting home at the end of September

I was so excited to finally see him and since I wasn't able to go to his boot camp graduation
I decided that I was going to drive all the way to
North Carolina from Washington.
I ended up going by myself with my kitten
which turned out very interesting.
she of course freaked out when she was in her cage
so I let her roam freely around the car

Of course she slept most of the time
the things you see driving across the US though.
You sure can really get a feel of what what the rest of the
world looks like driving over 12 different states.

Finally I had reached North Carolina after 5 days of driving almost 3,000 miles

After driving that long my poor car really needed a car wash

What I should have done was scrape off all the bugs
and put them in a container that says "bugs from 12 states" on it :)

Next came his homecoming
I had so much excitement built up I was going crazy
I made him a sign to hold up when he returned

I also made a sign to hang outside our house.
Funny story is when I was hanging the sign there were fire ants
crawling on my feet and bitting them which hurt extremely bad.
I now have scars from them and the bites lasted almost 3 weeks.

I would post some pictures of homecoming but unfortunately my photographer
had to go after sitting with me for 4 hours because her babysitter
couldn't stay any longer. 45 minutes after she left they arrived.
Of course it was pouring outside so they packed all 200 men in a tiny gym
and just waiting for them to start walking in I was overwhelmed with emotion.
Finally he was released from their formation and I was making my way down to him.
I don't think I have ever pushed through so many people.
But once I saw him and yelled out his name we locked eyes and I got a huge hug
and I couldn't let go. I was the happiest girl ever.
After we left the gym to go home though it was still pouring and
I was drenched come to find out that was the start of a week of non stop rain that flooded North Carolina and our street got closed from the road washing off into a creek.

October 12, 2010

We decided  that was the day we were going to go to the courthouse
that night with his cousin and wife and we were going to be married.
I wish I was smart enough to get pictures that night but I wasn't instead
I had a photographer take pictures another day.
